Yamunotri is one of the four sacred dhams of uttarakhand in Garhwal himalayas - The home of Goddess Yamuna and named after River Yamuna, sister of Yamraj. Yamunotri Temple was built in the 19th Century by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again. It is said that a rock pillar named Divya Shila to be worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple. There are Number of thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows into numerous pools.
Among the all the most important spring is Surya Kund where raw rice can be cooked and distributed among devotees as a prasad. Apart for that Yamunotri is full with scenic spot and panoramic views of Himalayan mountain range.
